Product Description

Nutiva Organic Coconut Sugar brings a subtle sweetness - similar to brown sugar with a hint of caramel - to your kitchen and is the perfect alternative to cane sugar, corn syrup, and artificial sweeteners. Unlike other sweeteners on the market, our granulated coconut sugar is never processed using hexane or other dangerous chemicals. Instead, it starts with collecting the fresh sap from sustainably grown coconut trees. This raw sap is gently heated so that the excess moisture evaporates away, leaving behind an unrefined and unprocessed granular sugar considered by some to be healthier than refined and chemical sweetener options. Nutiva Organic Coconut Sugar contains potassium, magnesium, zinc, iron, and B vitamins. It is also reported to have a lower glycemic index than other sweeteners on the market and is often considered to be a wholesome addition to vegetarian, vegan, whole food, paleo-friendly, ketogenic, and gluten-free diets. Nutiva was founded in 1999 with a single purpose in mind - to Revolutionize the Way the World Eats. Our role is to produce and promote organic, nutrient-dense foods that are good for you and good for the planet. Social and environmental responsibility is a core part of Nutiva’s culture and business. From sourcing organic products, to obtaining fair trade certification, to greening our facilities and operations, to funding tree planting at schools in our local community, we are constantly seeking ways to better protect our environment and ensure a better quality of life for employees, customers, and the communities we serve.

coconut sugar is perfectly sweet, works so nice in coffee, sprinkles on oatmeal, used in baking
I've been using coconut sugar on and off for about a decade. Lower glycemic level which means that it doesn't cause blood sugar to spike as quickly or as high as other sugars. Also has naturally occurring vitamins and minerals. There is NO coconut taste. It is really quite close to brown sugar tasting, but drier like white sugar granules. I think that is what makes it so easy to swap in- there isn't a big difference in taste. Not using something that is going to make anything taste weird. Just tastes like sugar, but better in so many ways.I find it works with anything, as 1:1 swap for refined white sugar. I don't sweeten my coffee but rarely, but it works great in coffee, over hot oatmeal, etc. Can be a little trickier in baking but its workable (can be use as brown sugar or white sugar replacement). I usually do a combo. I always keep some coconut sugar on hand for guests for their coffee.I like the smaller bags. I tend to buy 1 lb bags rather than larger. I either keep in in the bag, or I pour into a jar. Any clumping over time will easily break apart. It doesn't get hard like brown sugar can get.Lasts forever. I ignore the expiration or best by date. It isnt going to go bad.No bugs (be sure to sort reviews by newest to find info on product that is most relevant to your order)
