Make this Bang Bang Shrimp recipe easy with crispy breaded shrimp coated in spicy sweet copycat Bang Bang sauce made with Thai sweet chili and mayo. Creamy, a hint of spice and sweetness—similar to the bang bang shrimp recipe from Bonefish Grill!
Whisk together all Bang Bang Sauce ingredients in a small bowl until well combined: mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili, sriracha, and rice vinegar. Set aside.1
Add buttermilk to a shallow bowl, cornstarch to a second bowl, and stir together Panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a third bowl. One shrimp at a time, dip in buttermilk, dredge in cornstarch, dip back into buttermilk, and dredge in Panko mixture, squeezing to seal in the coating.
Heat oil in a deep fryer or a little over 1 inch of oil in a deep pan to 350°F. Deep fry shrimp for 2-4 minutes, until golden brown. Set on a paper towel-lined plate to catch excess oil.
Add fried shrimp and Bang Bang sauce into a large bowl. Toss to coat. Serve Bang Bang Shrimp over rice and topped with green onions. Enjoy!
