Amazing Air Fryer Nachos!
In my family, I’m known as something of a nachos connoisseur. Okay, we’re all known as nachos experts. We eat nachos at the movies, at Mexican restaurants, at Applebee’s, at a shack on the beach; wherever there are nachos, we are so there. So when I say today’s air fryer nachos are hella good, I mean it. Think: the double kapow of melty cheese and gooey nacho cheese topping crunchy, warm tortilla chips and fresh toppings like tomatoes, jalapeños, and your favorites. Prep time is just minutes, then toss it into the air fryer for 6 minutes and you’re in appetizer heaven.
Ingredients for Air Fryer Nachos
- Tortilla Chips – I love using yellow corn chips, baked tortilla chips, even Doritos to make these air fryer nachos.
- Nacho cheese – store-bought works great and you can choose the spicy kind if you want to kick the heat up a bit.
- Jalapeños – Use sliced jalapeños, or skip if sensitive to heat.
- Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- Tomatoes – make sure to chop and deseed your tomatoes so their excess juice doesn’t make your nachos soggy.
- Sliced Olives – feel free to add on extra olives, or skip them altogether.
- Garnish: top with salsas like black bean and corn salsa, or a creamy topping like chipotle aioli or guacamole.

How to Reheat Nachos in Air Fryer
So you might be asking yourself, “Can you reheat nachos in an air fryer?” My friend, yes you can. Simply line the air fryer basket with parchment paper or an air fryer liner, pop in the nachos and reheat at 350°F for 4-8 minutes, depending on if your nachos started out cold. Watch them to make sure they don’t burn.

7 Layer Dip
Air Fryer Nachos
Ingredients
Air Fryer Nachos
- 2 ½ cups tortilla chips
- 2/3 cup nacho cheese
- ½ cup sliced jalapeños, reserve 1-2 tablespoons for topping
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1-2 medium tomatoes, chopped and deseeded
- 1/3 cup sliced olives
Garnish
Instructions
- Line an air fryer basket with parchment paper with excess flaps for lifting—this will help you pull out the nachos once done. Or, use an air fryer basket liner.
- Create a single layer of tortilla chips in the lined basket. Drop and spread small dollops of nacho cheese over the chips, dot with jalapeños, then sprinkle with cheese. Repeat until all chips, jalapeños, and cheeses are used. I got two layers.
- Set the air fryer to 325°F and cook for 4-7 minutes (I did 6 minutes), until heated throughout and cheese is melted.
- Pinching the flaps of the parchment paper, carefully pull out the nachos, placing them on a serving plate. Sprinkle tomatoes, olives, and jalapeños over nachos.
- Top with guacamole, sour cream, and black bean and corn salsa. Enjoy!
