What is Snickers Salad?
This is basically an apple fruit salad with Snickers in it. Like, what’s not to like? Popular in the Midwest, Snickers Salad is made with a base of apples coated in a creamy pudding and whipped topping sauce tossed with chopped Snickers.
Snickers Salad Ingredients
This apple snickers salad is made with common ingredients you might already have on hand, or can quickly grab at the grocery store.
- Snickers: we’re gonna use 5 full-sized bars for the salad, then 2-3 more for topping.
- Instant vanilla pudding mix: make sure to use just the amount of milk stated in my recipe, not the amount on the box.
- Milk: you can use 3/4 to 1 cup, depending on the desired thickness of your dressing.
- Cool Whip: heavy whipping cream will also do
- Apples: Granny Smith apples are best because their tart and refreshing flavor balance the sweetness of this snickers apple salad.
- Caramel Sauce: drizzle this to make it pretty and extra delicious.
- Chopped Peanuts: This topping offsets the sweetness of the salad and makes it taste even more like Snickers!
How to Make Snickers Salad
It’s unbelievably easy to make this Snickers Salad! Literally three steps, then one more for topping.
Grab a large mixing bowl and whisk pudding mix and milk together.
Next, fold in Cool Whip or other frozen whipped topping. It should look fully incorporated, like in the right photo below.
Next, fold in 5 chopped apples and 5 chopped Snickers bars.
When you’re ready to serve, slice 1 apple and arrange over the top of the apple snickers salad. Drizzle with caramel sauce and top with peanuts. Enjoy!
Make-Ahead Tip
If making ahead, be sure to toss and coat apples in lemon juice before adding to the salad.
However, it’s best to add the Toppings until ready to serve.
