Caprese Salad Skewers Ingredients
These caprese salad skewers are made with 3 basic ingredients and a few toppings, so it’s important to use quality, fresh ingredients, and to try your hand at homemade components like the balsamic glaze.
- Cherry tomatoes – I love using a combo of red, black, and yellow tomatoes for their gorgeous colors.
- Mozzarella balls – my favorite component of this recipe! Creamy and tasty paired with fresh basil and fresh tomatoes.
- Fresh basil leaves – don’t worry if you have large leaves and small leaves; simply fold large leaves over several times to fit on the caprese skewers.
- Olive oil – use as much or as little extra virgin olive oil as you’d like.
- Learn how to make balsamic glaze, it’s incredible and so easy.
- Salt and pepper – freshly-ground salt and pepper has the biggest, boldest flavor.
- Optional, but delicious and beautiful: homemade Italian seasoning
How to Make Caprese Skewers
This caprese skewers recipe is super easy to make. First, place 12 6-inch mini skewers onto a large serving dish.
Next, spear 1 red cherry tomato, 1 basil leaf, 1 mozzarella ball, a 2nd basil leaf, and a yellow or black cherry tomato onto a mini skewer. Repeat until all skewers have been made, laying them out nicely onto the serving dish.
Lastly, drizzle skewers with olive oil and balsamic glaze. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning (which makes the skewers look so pretty). Enjoy the best caprese skewers!
