15-Minute Honey Gochujang Salmon
Who’s ready for a super easy, super delicious salmon dinner? If you’re loving this whole Swicy movement (sweet and spicy), you’re gonna love today’s Honey Gochujang Salmon. It’s my Korean-inspired fish dish that’s flavor-packed, made with mirin, honey, beautiful heaps of gochujang paste, and fresh ginger.
With just 15 minutes of cook and prep time, this gochujang salmon yields tender, flaky salmon coated in a sticky sweet glaze that’s a bit fiery, a bit sweet, and a lot delicious. This recipe goes so well with veggies, rice (even pasta), and makes for a quick and easy weeknight dinner.

Gochujang Salmon Ingredients
- Gochujang paste: the star ingredient, this spicy and flavor-packed paste tastes incredible in this recipe
- Salmon: use about 1lb of skin-on salmon for 4 good-sized portions perfect for dinner or lunch
- Honey: adds sweetness to balance out the spice
- Garlic: use freshly-minced garlic or store-bought to speed up the recipe
- Low sodium soy sauce: one of my go-to staples in the kitchen, you won’t miss the extra sodium
- Mirin: this Japanese rice wine adds a subtle sweet and tart flavor
- Toasted Sesame Oil: make sure to get toasted, which has a brownish tint and a much more potent aroma
- Ginger: use freshly grated ginger for maximum flavor
- Red pepper flakes: this ingredient adds beauty and spice

How to Make Gochujang Salmon
- Preheat oven to 400°F. Make the gochujang salmon marinade: whisk together gochujang paste, honey, garlic, soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, ginger, and red pepper flakes.

- Place salmon, skin-side down, on a baking dish coated with olive oil. Mist salmon with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake for 6 minutes.

- Whisk the sauce again, then pour over salmon to coat. Set oven to broil and broil until glazed.

- For a gochujang salmon bowl, serve with brown or white rice and veggies. Enjoy!

Honey Gochujang Salmon
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons gochujang paste
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2 teaspoons low sodium soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons mirin
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
- ½ teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 4 skin-on salmon fillets, about 1lb
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Black and white sesame seeds, for garnish
- Green onions, sliced for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F. In a small bowl make gochujang salmon marinade by whisking together gochujang, honey, garlic, soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Whisk until fully combined.
- Mist a 9-inch square baking dish in oil. Place salmon fillets, skin-side down into the pan, uncrowded for even cooking. Mist with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake for 6 minutes.
- Whisk the gochujang salmon marinade again, then pour evenly over fillets, coating every inch. Set oven to broil and broil for 4-6 minutes, until tender and glazed. Serve with rice and veggies, topped with sesame seeds and green onions. Enjoy!
