Air Fryer Crispy Roast Potatoes
“Can I have seconds? And thirds? And fourths?” That’s Erik classily asking to eat the rest of these air fryer roasted potatoes the second we finished making them. That’s how good these roasted potatoes are.
This air fryer crispy roast potatoes has it all: seasoned to perfection, with herbs and a hint of spice. Crispy on the outside, buttery and tender on the inside. Just a few minutes of chopping, tossing oil and seasoning into a bowl, then into the air fryer it goes. You’ll love making “oven roasted” potatoes in the air fryer!

Air Fryer Roasted Potatoes Ingredients
- Potatoes: I recommend using Yukon Gold potatoes since they have tender, buttery centers, and crisp up so beautifully on the outside without needing to remove the skin.
- Oil: I recommend using extra virgin olive oil, but you can use what you have on hand, as long as the oil can withstand 400°F and is a flavor that goes well with seasoned potatoes.
- Seasonings: I use Italian seasoning as the flavorful base, then add in some homemade cajun seasoning for some added spice.
- Garlic: freshly minced garlic is great, but store-bought minced garlic is fine here, too!
- Salt and Pepper: freshly-ground is best for these two, but go ahead and use the prepared kind.

How to Make Roasted Potatoes in the Air Fryer
Making roasted potatoes in an air fryer is really as simple as 5 steps with just a few easy ingredients. The result? Crispy, well-seasoned exteriors, and a buttery, soft center in the best ever roasted Yukon gold potatoes – air fryer recipe.

- Cut Yukon Gold potatoes into evenly uniform 1-inch pieces. Add with oil and seasonings to a large mixing bowl.
- Stir potatoes until every single cube is nicely coated in seasonings and oil. I love using Cajun seasoning for added spice!

- Create a single layer of roasted potatoes in the air fryer basket, cooking at 400°F for about 15 minutes.
- Flip halfway through, cooking until crisped on the edges and soft in the centers.

- Garnish with parsley and serve with your favorite dips and dressings. Enjoy the best air fryer roasted potatoes!
Tips for Crispy Roasted Potatoes in Air Fryer
- Cut your potatoes into even, 1-inch pieces. A little variation is okay, but for even cooking cut them uniformly.
- Use Yukon Gold potatoes. They’re buttery on the inside and crisp up so beautifully on the outside due to their thin, delicate skin.
- Create a single layer of potatoes in the air fryer basket. Crowding the potatoes will prevent hot air from flowing through and crisping them up to perfection!
- Flip the potatoes halfway through. It’s tempting to skip this step for ease, but a quick flip will ensure potatoes are evenly crisp on both sides.
Flavor Variations & Dips
- Dips: Try creamy dips like chipotle aioli or roasted garlic aioli.
- Seasonings: You can swap the seasonings listed with taco seasoning, seasoned salt, or tasty garlic salt.
- Dressings: Drizzle your roasted potatoes in dressings like Italian dressing (herby and delish), ranch dressing (creamy and zesty), honey mustard dressing (my fave with a sweet twist), and more.

Made a batch of these for dinner last night along with some chicken and green beans and wow was it good! Would it be okay to use russet or fingerling potatoes next time?
Glad to hear it was such a hit, Melody! While I typically recommend using Yukon gold potatoes because of the way the crisp up nicely, you can swap for other potatoes if needed. Just know that different types of potatoes will have a different taste/texture, and that they might need an adjustment on cook time as well. Let me know how it turns out! ๐
