Easy Cannoli Dip Recipe
Back when I was living in Boston, I loved going with my sister to get cannolis. In the North End, there were amazing, fresh-made cannolis everywhere you looked—at Mike’s Pastry and on every corner. But the work required to make them at home? Fugettaboutit!!! Allow me to introduce you to this easy no bake recipe: Cannoli Dip. It’s packed with loads of chocolate chips, silky smooth and thick mascarpone, and a hint of one secret ingredient!
What is Cannoli Dip?
Cannoli dip is a sweet dessert inspired by the filling in a Sicilian pastry. Like the pastry, the dip is made with mascarpone and confectioners’ sugar. Along with a few other ingredients, this thick dip is served in a bowl with fruit and cookies to dip in.
Italian Cannoli Dip Recipe Ingredients
This easy recipe for cannoli dip calls for simple and delicious ingredients that yield a velvety smooth texture. This is one of my favorite easy no bake desserts.
- Mascarpone: for an authentic cannoli inspired taste and creamy, velvety texture, we’ll use mascarpone.
- Cream cheese: make sure to use brick-style, room temperature.
- Confectioners’ sugar: the thickener and sweetener to this recipe.
- Vanilla
- Ground cinnamon: the secret ingredient—cinnamon adds an oomph to this dip, it’s not overpowering at all.
- Chocolate chips: use mini chocolate chips since they’ll be easier to chew in this recipe.
- Serve with: Pizzelle cookies, waffle cone pieces, strawberries, and more.

What to eat with and what to serve with cannoli dip without ricotta, anyway? Here are some tasty suggestions:
Dessert: lady fingers, crispy gingersnaps, vanilla wafers, spread it on brownie bites.
Crunchy snacks: Pizzelle cookies, waffle cone pieces, graham crackers, baked tortilla chips.
Fruit: strawberries, apple slices, any crisp, firm fruit you’d like.
Storing & Freezing
How Long is Cannoli Dip Good For?
You can keep this homemade recipe for 2-3 days in the refrigerator. Make sure to store it in an airtight container, or it’ll go dry (and bad) much faster.
Can You Freeze It?
I generally don’t recommend freezing anything with cream cheese in it (besides cheesecake). This dip can separate once frozen and thawed, making it not great, texture-wise.
