Easy Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread
Monkey bread is one of sister Jenny’s absolute favorite things to eat. Cinnamon rolls are one of Erik’s faves… so guess what I made? A mouthwatering combination of the two that will blow you away: Easy Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread! Once I tested and shared the world’s best monkey bread, I knew I had to do another. And the results are spectacular.
I made Cinnamon roll monkey bread in a bundt pan featuring pillowy cinnamon roll pieces, two times the cinnamon sugar goodness (from swirls in the cinnamon rolls and as a delicious glaze), all baked to sticky-sweet perfection and topped with a sweet ‘n creamy icing. You’ll fall for this sweet breakfast treat and make it again and again (just like breakfast bars). Trust. This is the best recipe for cinnamon roll monkey bread you’ll ever have.

Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread Ingredients
- Sugar: granulated sugar is best, and not to worry, we won’t be using it all
- Cinnamon: ground cinnamon combines with sugar to create a delicious cinnamon sugar glaze that wraps around monkey bread pieces
- Refrigerated Cinnamon Rolls: I like using canned Pillsbury Grands cinnamon rolls, which come with icing cups (convenient!). Use 2 cans at 17.5 ounces each for the correct volume in a 12-cup bundt pan.
- Brown Sugar: light or dark will do
- Butter: make sure to use unsalted butter

- Freezer: place in a freezer-friendly, airtight container for 1-3 months.

Tips for Amazing Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread
- Use a pizza cutter to quarter the canned Pillsbury cinnamon rolls – it’s faster and keeps the cinnamon roll pieces together.
- Place all the cut cinnamon roll pieces into the bag with cinnamon sugar together at once. It looks full, but doing so will ensure an even coating.
- Discard leftover sugar or use it in another recipe (but make sure to cook it): don’t give into the temptation to throw it in the pan—it’ll make the canned cinnamon roll monkey bread grainy.
- Don’t overfill the pan. This recipe is made for a 12-cup bundt pan and will fit perfectly; if using another size, don’t fill the pan more than 2/3 of the way.
- Thoroughly stir together the melted butter and sugar until it’s one cohesive liquid, or it won’t create a smooth glaze.
- Don’t leave the monkey bread in the pan for too long. It only needs to cool for about 10 minutes, any longer and it might stick. You can also use a slim heatproof spatula to loosen the sides.

Easy Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread
Ingredients
Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 (17.5 ounce) cans Pillsbury Grands cinnamon rolls, reserve icing cups
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Add sugar and ground cinnamon to a gallon food storage bag. Shake thoroughly to combine.
- Grease a 12-cup bundt pan. Set aside icing cups to thaw and soften at room temperature.
- Using a pizza cutter, slice cinnamon roll dough into quarters and place all pieces into the cinnamon sugar bag. It seems full, but it’ll work. Shake until well coated. Discard leftover sugar.
- Drop half of the pieces into the prepared pan. In a cup, stir together melted butter and brown sugar until it becomes one.
- Pour half the butter mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces. Add the remaining cinnamon roll pieces and drizzle with remaining butter mixture.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, until deep golden brown and cooked in the center. It’s done when you can easily pull a piece out of the center (use a fork and be careful, it’s hot!). Mine took 37 minutes.
- Cool in pan for about 10 minutes, then turn onto a plate, tapping the bottom of the pan to loosen.1
- Drizzle icing all over the tops of the cinnamon roll monkey bread. If icing is too firm, warm for 5 seconds in the microwave (remember to remove metal top first).2 Enjoy!

- Freezing Instructions: Store cinnamon roll monkey bread in a freezer-friendly, airtight container for 1-3 months in the freezer.
