Roasted Bell Peppers Ingredients

Just 4 ingredients are needed to make roasted bell peppers—even less if you choose to not season them.
I actually like to add in a bit of dried oregano for a herby kick, and dried pepper flakes for some spice. Or, if the mood strikes, a dash of this homemade Cajun seasoning recipe.

The result? A deepened, richer flavor of bell peppers that are enhanced with softened, roasted goodness!
Now, you’ll learn how to make roasted bell peppers that you can pair with just about anything. I’m a big fan of putting them in sandwiches, while Erik prefers to add them to pastas. They also go well as a side to this watermelon steak. Or, you could match them with some homemade homemade bruschetta. The possibilities are endless!
How to Roast Bell Peppers (How to Oven Roast Bell Peppers)

As always, preheat the oven first! Set the oven to 450°F, then line a baking sheet with lightly greased foil.
Next, wash and trim bell peppers, removing the seeds and stems. I like to cut nice, wide strips for big, juicy roasted bell peppers.
Then, add bell pepper strips into a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil. You can skip the next part if you don’t want seasoning.
Once coated in oil, sprinkle with optional seasonings such as salt, pepper, dried oregano, and pepper flakes.
Toss until all the bell peppers are fully coated.
Pour prepared bell peppers onto the lined baking sheet.
Spread bell peppers into an even layer, with a bit of space between each piece for evenly roasted bell peppers.
Roast bell peppers for about 30 minutes in the oven, until tender and a bit deliciously charred.

- 4 medium to large bell peppers – use multicolor for fun!
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1/8 teaspoon salt, or more to taste
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper, or more to taste
Optional
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon dried pepper flakes
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly greased foil.
- Wash and trim bell peppers—removing seeds and stems. Slice into wide strips.
- Toss bell peppers in a bowl with olive oil, salt and pepper to taste, and, optionally, any spices if desired. Toss until fully coated.
- Arrange bell peppers into an even layer on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between peppers for proper airflow.
- Bake for 20-35 minutes, until tender and a bit charred. Bake on the longer end for wider strips and more tender bell peppers. Enjoy!
