This rich and velvety garlic parmesan sauce is filled with luxurious garlic, parmesan cheese, and rich cream. Ideal for drizzling over pasta, as a dipping sauce, and more! It’s a perfect blend of garlicky cheesiness with a touch of seasonings.

Garlic Parmesan Sauce Ingredients
- Butter
- Garlic + Garlic Powder – two kinds of garlic make for an exceptional level of deep garlic flavor
- Flour
- Italian Seasoning – my homemade italian seasoning is a must try!
- Heavy Cream
- Broth – chicken or vegetable will do
- Parmesan Cheese
- Salt and Pepper – not to worry, I’ve listed my recommend amount, but you can adjust it to suit your tastes.
How to Make Garlic Parmesan Sauce
Learn how to make garlic parmesan sauce with these simple ingredients and just a few steps. You’ll be pouring this thick, creamy, and unbelievably delicious sauce on everything!
First, bring a medium saucepan to medium high heat. Melt butter in the pan, then stir in garlic and cook until fragrant.
Next, reduce the heat to medium and whisk in flour, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt and pepper until thickened.
Now, increase the heat back to medium high and incrementally whisk in heavy cream and broth until the sauce is smooth. Bring to a low simmer and cook until thickened.
Reducing the heat to low, stir in delicious parmesan until it melts smoothly into the garlic parmesan sauce.
Lastly, remove the sauce from the heat and add in any salt and pepper as needed.

- Pastas: cook your favorite pasta as directed, drain, and coat with this sauce! Also try my Tomato Basil Pasta, Garlic Butter Pasta, and Pesto Pasta.
- Veggies: serve with cooked or raw veggies like broccoli, roasted bell peppers, or brussels sprouts. Especially good with garlic parmesan potatoes! Bonus Tip: try drizzling some balsamic glaze over all of these for a flavor-rich treat.
- Wings: cook up a batch of chicken wings and coat or dip in this parmesan garlic sauce.
- Appetizers: I love using this sauce as a dip for french fries, air fryer onion rings, potato wedges, and more.

Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
Instructions
- Heat a medium saucepan to medium high heat. Melt butter in the pan. Add garlic, stirring and cooking until fragrant.
- Reduce heat to medium and whisk in flour, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt and pepper until a thick texture like paste forms. You can start with less salt and adjust to taste while cooking the sauce.
- Increase heat to medium high, gradually whisking in heavy cream and broth until smooth. Bring to a low simmer, cooking until sauce thickens, about 2-4 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low, stirring in Parmesan. Stir until cheese melts and sauce becomes smooth.
- Remove from heat, add more salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve over cooked pasta, as a dip with appetizers like french fries, onion rings, or potato wedges, coat chicken wings, or on top of veggies like brussels sprouts.
