Delicious Roasted Garlic Aioli

Now that you know how to roast garlic, we’re going to make use of it with today’s tasty, indulgent, and truly delicious roasted garlic aioli. It comes together in minutes once you’ve roasted your garlic, and it takes sandwiches, veggies, and more to the next level!

Ingredients: What is in Garlic Aioli?

But first, what is in garlic aioli, anyway? You might be surprised to find that this fragrant, mouthwatering dip and spread is made with just a few ingredients:

  • Roasted garlic – be sure to follow my how to roast garlic tutorial before making today’s recipe.
  • Mayonnaise – I like using an olive oil-based mayo, but you can use your favorite, including a vegan one!
  • Lemon juice – fresh is always best! Use fresh-squeezed lemon juice for the tastiest aioli.
  • Worcestershire sauce – quick, say that 10x fast! 😉 If you love this sauce, you can add even more than I did. Not a fan, use less!
  • Cayenne pepper – you won’t taste too spicy of a flavor of cayenne in your roasted garlic aioli, but if you’re truly heat-sensitive, feel free to skip it.

What is Garlic Aioli?

Garlic aioli is a dip and spread that’s made with garlic, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and a few spices. It’s easy to make and often used as a spread on sandwiches and burgers, a dip for French fries and more!

Roast the Garlic

First, follow this recipe: how to make roasted garlic. It’s easy, simple, and truly satisfying.

Then, using a fork, gently pull out roasted garlic cloves.

Mash the Garlic

Next, add roasted garlic cloves to a small mixing bowl.

Using that same fork, thoroughly mash the garlic until mostly smooth and creamy.

Stir Garlic Aioli Ingredients

Grab a small spatula or wooden spoon, then stir and fold all the garlic aioli ingredients together until smooth.

Make sure to completely mix in the garlic bits and evenly distribute the Worcestershire sauce and cayenne.

Cover and Refrigerate

Transfer the aioli to bowl and cover. Then, refrigerate it for at least an hour to allow the flavor to sing.

  • Make roasted garlic first, then allow to cool just enough to touch. Remove roasted garlic cloves from the papery garlic head.
  • Add roasted garlic to a medium bowl. Mash until mostly smooth and creamy.

      Hi Denise! Hm, I supposed you could try using it. Just make sure it’s not flavored (even with vanilla), as that will make the aioli weirdly sweet instead of the tangy, savory flavor it should have. Let me know how it turns out!
