Apple Spice Dump Cake

When Erik and I first heard of dump cakes, we did the natural thing, and laughed about it. For like 3 whole minutes. Then, we found out why they’re called that and why they’re the best thing ever! All you have to do is dump a few ingredients into a pan and bake it. That’s truly how easy today’s apple spice dump cake is.

From this apple dump cake recipe with cake mix, you can expect warm apple pie filling topped with apple pie spiced crumbly, buttery topping that goes oh-so-well with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Yes, it’s as good as it sounds.

Tips

  • About ½ way through baking, you can carefully stir together any big clumps of cake mix that you see.
  • Slice the butter instead of melting it to distribute it evenly over the cake mix. This creates a buttery crumb topping for the dump cake with the least amount of dry bits leftover once baked.
  • Use this homemade apple pie spice, it adds an extra layer of flavor and makes this dump cake taste like it’s made from scratch!
