Description

Sweet, maple-flavored glaze is the taste of fall with warm notes of maple syrup, a pinch of salt, and sweet powdered sugar.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 23 tablespoons maple syrup
  • A pinch of salt (optional but recommended)

Glaze Variations

  • See post for Maple Bourbon Glaze, Cinnamon Glaze, and more.

Instructions

  1. Add confectioners’ sugar and cinnamon (if using) to a medium small bowl. Whisk together until well mixed.
  2. Add melted butter and just 1 tablespoon maple syrup and salt.
  3. Begin whisking until the sugar dissolves. If the mixture is too thick, add more maple syrup as needed.
  4. Whisk and adjust until you get a thick glaze that drizzles down slowly in ribbons, like thick honey.

Notes

Thickness tips: aim for a glaze thick enough that it doesn’t run everywhere, but not too thick that you have to spread it on your baked goods.
