What Nut Butter Should I Use? Which is Keto Friendly?
There are a number of keto-friendly nut butters that you can use, but depending on the kind, you can have higher or lower amounts of carbs [1] [2]. Check it out:
Macadamia Nut Butter
Very low carb. Macadamia nut butter is made with macadamia nuts, which have 21g of fat and only 1.5g of net carbs per 1oz serving. However, it’s difficult to find macadamia nut butter and the very high fat content can lead to overly greasy keto balls.
Pecan Butter
Lowest carb. One of my favorite keto nut butters. You can find super tasty pecan butter here. Pecans contain 20g of fat, 2.6g of protein and just 1.2 net carbs per 1oz serving.
Hazelnut Butter
Low Carb. 2g of net carbs per serving.
Walnut Butter
Low Carb. Walnut butter is definitely one of the lesser known nut butters, but it is significantly low carb, with just 2g of net carbs per 1oz serving. This keto-friendly nut butter is a bit on the greasy side as well.
Almond Butter
Low Carb. 2.5g of net carbs per serving. Very tasty and works almost like a neutral-tasting thickener in many keto recipes.
Cashew Butter
Kinda Low Carb. One of the most popular keto-friendly nut butters. Although 7g of net carbs per 1oz serving makes cashews seem like something to avoid, the tradeoff is that it’s really f-ing good!
Rich and creamy flavor packed with healthy fat, all you need to do is make sure you keep your consumption of cashew butter in moderation to stick to a keto diet. Try making your very own homemade cashew butter here.

Delicious ‘n easy keto balls that have just 1g net carbs per ball!
Sometimes a little positivity is all you need to get you through the week, ya know? Or a little something sweet. Whichever floats your boat. 😉 I can’t wait ‘til our next sweet adventure together…
