Can you believe it’s almost summer??? Wheeeeeeeee!! Tell me that you’re beyond excited! Tell me that you have all kinds of plans to take a break, let loose, and totally treat yourself to some much-deserved vacation time! Tell me that you’re just as ready to inflate that hot-pink pool lounger and prepare yourself for a lazy afternoon full of napping in the sun. 🙂
Yes!!! What grand plans do you have for this summer?
One of my plans involves making All The Frozen Treats! Yep, exclamation marks are also a very quintessential part of my summer plans. As you can see. 😉 I mean, as you can see!!!
Anyway, last summer I really got into the spirit of things. I made milkshakes, popsicles, nice cream, smoothies, and even ice cream bars. Btw, if you’d like to see something specific this summer, speak now or forever hold your peace. J/k! Speak now thru August. Because by then, let’s be honest, I’ll already be whipping out the pumpkin (because we’ve got to warm up for Fall by then). But enough of that overly eager season-jumping talk.
This summer, we’re gonna warm things up with this Triple Berry Smoothie. Yes, I can see how ironic that phrasing was. 😉 Anywho, Erik specifically requested this berry-packed, berry-awesome treat. He was actually heavily hinting (and, by hinting, I mean loudly throat-clearing, then signature-elbow-nudging, then texting me from across the room) about this smoothie. . .
He announced, in his ever so regal manner, that he loves tart treats—especially if they’re full of raspberries, blueberries and strawberries. After I whipped this up for him, he even more regally announced that it tasted a lot like a Berry Lime Sublime. Sans lime, of course. Then, raised his eyebrows in a hint hint way so I’d add lime next time.
Next time, I’ll have to hint hint to him that he go pick up some limes, then squeeze them for me first. 😉
He also said that this reminded him of a Razz Matazz. What are the chances I spelled that right? So now I’m thinking about whipping up both of those drinks in popsicle-form for our summer celebrations. What do you think? Does that sound like something you’d be interested in?
Meanwhile, I’m totally loving this idea from A Mind “Full” Mom for Berry Avocado Toast. Such a creative and tasty treat! To veganize, simply use vegan cream cheese and maple syrup instead of honey. Be sure to use gluten-free bread to make it GF. 😉

Triple Berry Smoothie (Paleo, V, GF): an easy, antioxidant-rich recipe for thick, refreshing smoothies packed with three kinds of berries! Paleo, Vegan, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free.
- 2 medium bananas, sliced and frozen
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 cup frozen raspberries
- Add bananas into the blender. Blend until the bananas become crumbly. Add almond milk. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the blender as needed.
- Add strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. Blend until smooth, again, scraping down the sides of the blender as needed.
- Pour into two cups and enjoy!
