Protein-Packed Strawberry Peanut Butter Smoothie
Protein-Packed Strawberry Peanut Butter Smoothie: 19 grams of protein. Just 5 simple ingredients in a quick and easy recipe for a creamy, healthy and protein-rich smoothie chockfull of strawberries and peanut butter. Try the vegan version here.
Whenever I make this smoothie for the gang (three sisters, my mom, Erik and wildly fortunate nearby loiterers), I’m ridiculously pleased by their reactions.
The thing is, no one ever expects a beautifully pink, creamy, seemingly Strawberry Members Only smoothie to have this amazing peanut butter kick to it. It’s this unexpected surprise that brightens up people’s days (and alleviates their fear of members-only clubs).
Then, the best part: a smile that you haven’t seen on those faces since they were kids. That’s what this protein-packed strawberry peanut butter smoothie does: it brings out the happy kid in everyone. *happy sigh*
You take a sip and you’re just reminded of the simpler days. Like…
- the beauty of a bunch of colorful balloons floating against a clear blue sky
- peanut butter and strawberry jelly all over your face because you’re young and haven’t learned to be self-conscious yet
- running around with your friends until your lungs burn and it’s time for a nap (girl… do I miss those!)
- and so much more.
This protein-rich smoothie is made of just 5 ingredients, super quick and easy to make, and has 19 grams of protein per serving. All you have to do is load up your blender with the ingredients: strawberries, peanut butter, Greek yogurt, almond milk and frozen bananas. You blend it until it’s smooth and rich like buttah. But not… because that’s just weird. Okay then, just blend it until it’s smooth like… um… wait for it… a smoothie. Heh. Heh.
Pour into two very lucky cups, pop in some cute chevron-print straws, drizzle with peanut butter and top with slices of strawberry. Then sip and sip until you’re back in your space jammies and watching Saturday morning cartoons again.
Super sparkly (like Lisa Frank sticker-level) bonus, this childhood bliss-inducing, protein-packed strawberry peanut butter smoothie helps you build strong muscles.
You know, for when you grow up. 😉

Absolutely Delicious!!
Do you happpen to know the calories for each serving?
Hi Cj! Thank you so much. 🙂 The calorie count varies depending on exactly the type of ingredients you have. There’s a nifty calculator here that you can use: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/recipe/calculator Hope this helps! 🙂
Yowsa I need this in my life! Thanks for posting 🙂
Thanks Patrick! Good to see you around here. 🙂
The little kid in me just started jumping for joy! PB and J in smoothie form sounds even better than the classic sandwich!
Wohoo!! I’m all for that! 🙂 Yup, no crust for us. Haha. Thanks for stopping by, Bethany. 🙂 It’s so nice to meet you.
Hmm… Definitely a yes to the PB&Js (with strawberry jelly, so I’m completely feeling you on this recipe), but also s’mores, hot chocolate (with a piece of buttered toast for dipping), a friendly game of Red Rover, flashlight tag and/or simon says. These pics are glorious as always. You, my friend, have a way with peanut butter 😉
PB&J all the way! Haha. Sorry, I couldn’t help myself. 😉 Loving all the childhood things you mentioned… especially the HoCho and simon says.:) Thank you so much for your kind words, as always Stephanie. Muah!
Like the addition of peanut butter..smoothie looks yum
Thanks Vidya! Peanut butter just makes everything better. 🙂

Thanks so much Priya. 🙂 Yeah, I love mixing nut butters into my smoothies. Sometimes it’s nice to have a spoon of peanut butter, sometimes it’s nice to just have a sip of it. Thanks for checking out my blog and Insta! I’m going to check yours out now. Nice to meet you! 🙂
Love the amount of protein! Looks fresh and delicious! Pinned!
Thanks! You feel stronger just taking a sip. Haha. Thanks for the pin and comment Mira. 🙂
Ok, how do I join that gang? Because I need a gorgeous healthy pink smoothie of my very own! Plus I am head over heels in love with those straws! Another winner, my dear! 🙂
You’re in! Haha. Let’s just say I pulled some strings. 😉 The straws, the pink: it’s all for some good fun. Thanks Kate! 🙂
Wow! This smoothie is gorgeous – I can see why everyone loves it 😉 & a favorite childhood food memory is when my dad fixed me a toasted blueberry bagel with PB and delivered it to school as a surprise! (Well, really he forgot to pack my lunch, but I didn’t hold it against him 😉 )
Love your childhood memory. It definitely made me laugh. Oh, dads… Good thing he made up for it with a surprise. LOL. Thanks Megan! 🙂
Love all the gorgeous and delicious flavors in this power packed smoothie. Lovely share!
Thanks for the nice comments. Nice to meet you, Anu. 🙂
Your recipes are always so creative, I’ve never thought about combining strawberries and peanut butter in a shake.
Thank you so much! 🙂 Strawberries and PB are the perfect combo. Great to meet you, Rahul. 🙂
Your writing is always funny – it feels like I’m right there with you! You know what food reminds me of my childhood? Skittles. Or watermelon, it always brings me back to when summer was still actually summer in the Netherlands and we could chill under a parasol all day…. Oh, the life.
Thanks Vivian! Yeah… I’m a chatty little bugger. Haha. Skittles and watermelon: oh, for sure. Some big, juicy slices of watermelon under a parasol sounds like the perfect afternoon. The life indeed. 🙂 Thanks, Viv! xo
Haha! I still get peanut butter and jelly all up on my face… guess I never grew up. Or I just don’t care to be self aware. Or use a napkin and eat like a lady. (<– Overrated) 😉 LOVE this smoothie, Demeter! Typical strawberry just got a serious upgrade with the addition of peanut butter!! I am regretting the boring breakfast I just ate and totally wishing I would have stopped by here first! Smoothie heaven up in here! Pinned! Cheers, friend!
LOLOL. Only you could pull that off… the rest of us would be gawked at. It’s an adult thing, this gawking. Haha. Eating like a lady? Over it! Haha. Smoothie heaven can be visited any time you want. 😉 Thanks for commenting and pinning, Cheyanne. xo
Love this 5-ingredient smoothie! Look extremely pretty and I’m sure it tastes amazing too!
Plus your photography is GORGEOUS!!!
Aw, thanks so much Evi! That’s a big compliment coming from you. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by! xo
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches totally remind me of being a kid! So does french bread pizza lol I have got to try this smoothie sometime, it looks so yummy!
Right?? Remember asking your mom to cut off the edges too? 😉 Oh man, french bread pizza is the BEST! Try it and let me know how it turns out! Thanks for commenting! 🙂
