What are no bake cookies?

No bake cookies are, quite simply, cookies that are made without any baking involved. Specifically, no bake cookies are made without the use of an oven.

Traditionally, no bake cookies [1] are made with stovetop heating. In traditional no bake cookies, you’d heat sugar, milk, butter and cocoa to create a sticky mixture for your cookies. Here’s one example of classic no bake cookies.

Then, you’d add oats, vanilla and peanut butter into that sticky mixture, thereby creating a cookie dough. You’d let them set, voila, no bake cookies! Here’s another example of no bake cookies.

Today, we’re making an easier, healthy & vegan version of no bake cookies. Today’s no bake cookies don’t require butter or cocoa powder. They’re peanut butter focused and made with just 3 simple ingredients. Check it out below.

  1. I just made these with my two children! So easy and delicious! I just started to make GF and sugar free treats because of health concerns. These definitely hit the spot!

      1. Just made them and they turned out wonderful! I added some chocolate chips and really like then that way. They were amazing even without the chocolate though. Definately a keeper!

  2. I had no idea that would be something people would search for, but now that I see these cookies, I want to try them, too! They look delicious!

  3. This is an old post, but had to comment. I was craving something sweet late at night, and don’t keep sweets in the house, but have all 3 of these ingredients, and recently went vegan. Only added a few tablespoons of Vermont maple syrup, and that was plenty for me. I may have eaten several cookies worth straight from the bowl… They took me less than 5 min to make, and the oats filled my tummy and everything else satisfied my sweet craving. Will be following your blog from now on =)

  4. I wanted something sweet NOW so I had to use the ingredients I had on hand. I halved the recipe and used half vanilla almond butter and half peter pan whipped creamy peanut butter. I used Cary’s sugar free pancake syrup instead of maple syrup. I let that mixture cool a bit so I could add Lilly’s stevia-sweetened chocolate chips. Also, I had no room in my freezer and no parchment or wax paper so I used foil and put them in the fridge (what all was left anyway, lol). They are freaking AWESOME!!! I WILL be making these again.
