No Churn Chocolate Chocolate Chip Coconut Vegan Ice Cream (Paleo, V, GF): a 7 ingredient, no churn recipe for creamy, rich and chocolatey ice cream bursting with coconut flavor. Vegan, Paleo, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free.
So the other day, while munching on a piece of homemade Almond Joy, I realized that Erik and Iโve been living in Boston for about a year now. My mom really was right when she says that time flies by so quickly. According to her, it was just yesterday that I was running around with pigtails and a fruit-print jumpsuit on.
We made the decision to move from Maine just a couple of months before we packed up and left. At that point, weโd only been living in Maine for about 2 years. But honestly, it was a looooooong 2 years.
Weโd come from living in San Diego, California, and that was one of the biggest adjustments we couldโve made. (I know, we move a lot, a lot!) Maine was just so different from what we were used toโbig city living, walking access to everything and just a different kind of lifestyle.
But Iโm glad we did it, then came to our senses, and moved away. For sure, Maine is just the perfect place for some folks, but not for Erik and me. Different strokes for different folks, right? ๐
Anywho, last year, when we moved, we were just starting to shoot videos for the blogโfor the first time ever. I shot a couple in Maine (one for fudgy paleo vegan brownies, one for 3 Ingredient No Bake Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies and one for no bake double chocolate peanut butter coconut energy bites, amidst a huge pile of moving boxes, then shot like 8 more amidst a new pile of moving boxes in Boston.
One of the first recipes I shot was Coconut Chocolate Chip Vegan Ice Cream. That recipe became a completely unexpected hit, both on the blog and on Facebook. Turns out, a lot of readers love the coconut and chocolate combo!
So as a bit of a 1-year anniversary for Beaming Baker videos and living in Boston, weโre gonna be making No Churn Chocolate Chocolate Chip Coconut Vegan Ice Cream today!
This recipe is similar to coconut chocolate chip vegan ice cream in the ways that count, and mouthwateringly upgraded in the ways that, well, also count. I went ahead and ditched the fuss of having to melt chocolate chipsโฆ and upgraded those tiny, delicate flakes to satisfying chunks.
I also pumped up the chocolate factor by adding in some cocoa powderโwhich also, wonderfully helps to dial down the banana taste to pretty much nonexistence. Then, I added a few other special touches.
Whaddya say? Would you like to celebrate so deliciously with us this year?
And if youโre not much of a chocolate fan (gasp!!), perhaps I can interest you in this ridiculously easy, 3 steps-only 3 Ingredient Strawberry Coconut Sorbet? Of course, itโs vegan, dairy-free and paleo. Woohoo!!

Delicious! Iโm paleo-ish (back off paleo zealots, Iโm living my best life!) and ice-cream is one of my fav joys in life. The substitutes never quite cut it. This recipe gives me good feels. Thank you!
LOLOL!! I feel ya, Jaclyn!! We all have to do whatโs right, just for us. ๐ No one knows your needs better than you do. . SO happy to hear about the good feels. Your comment just made my day! Enjoy! .
Just saw this for the first time and immediately out my bananas in the freezer!
Iโm wonder though if you happen to have the nutritional information for this recipe. Or maybe I missed it?
Thank you!!
Hi Yvonne! Iโm (very) slowly, but surely working on adding nutritional info across the site. Thank you for your patience. ๐ Hope you enjoy the ice cream!
Wow, canโt wait to make this! A quick thanks, too, for making your recipes so organized and user friendly! I love how you organize and label everything โ it saves so much time in reading the ingredients and making the recipes. Thanks!
Hi Elizabeth! Aw, thank you so much!! I used to have a lot of trouble keeping track of ingredients back in my early days in the kitchen, so itโs always been my goal to make the recipe as clear as possible. Itโs so rewarding to read a comment like yours. ๐ Thank you for taking the time to leave it. .
I love the way you add lots of chocolate chunks and coconut shreds, they make me feel more craving for this ice cream <3
Oh yes, the more delicious add-ins the better! .
The texture is great! The first few moments I had my doubts as the Cuisinart battled with the banana chunks, but it finally won and then the addition of the coconut cream made it perfect. It does taste banana-y to me, although of course it equally tastes of chocolate, so I did enjoy it. But it seems that my dessert preference is a couple of cookies or a brownie, accompanied by iced coffee (and the newest obsession is nitro cold brewโdo you know about that? We even bought a whipped cream maker to make nitro), so keep those recipes coming, please!
Yay!! Oh yes, grinding up bananas can be quite the exciting event. Lol. Oh gosh, cookies and coffee sound amazing just about now! Nitro cold brew: yes! Itโs all that Erik can talk about. Heโs a huge fan of it! Oh my gosh, I love that you bought a whipped cream maker to make it (I need to know more!!). Thanks for stopping by, Ellen. As always, itโs a pleasure. ๐
Demeter, I was skeptical, but this really worksโwe donโt even need sugar or โcreamโ in the nitro!
Thanks Ellen!! Thatโs incredible. Iโm gonna tell Erik all about this. โบ๏ธ
This sounds so refreshing for summer!
Yep, the perfect summertime treat!
Wow this looks so decadent and delicious, but no guilt!!! WOW!
Oh yeah! Itโs a total dessert win-win! .
Another delicious ice cream recipe, Demeter! Looks absolutely delicious! ๐
Aw thanks Marsha! โบ๏ธ And it most definitely is! .
What a perfect summer treat! This is a must-make!
Agreed! Itโs so wonderfully satisfying! โบ๏ธ
