3 Ingredient Keto Peanut Butter Balls (Low Carb)
peanut butter keto energy balls: just 3 ingredients for quick ‘n easy keto peanut butter balls that are low carb!
Are you going keto or low carb this year? Not gonna lie, Erik and I’ve been doing keto on and off for the last few years or so and it truly is something else. One thing that I’ve taken away from it? You stay full for so much longer when you’re eating more healthy fats!
I know, some of you are face-palming right now, like, “Duh, Demeter!!” But you know what? I’m a child of the 80s/90s and guess what? We were taught to be super duper scared of fat and eat tons of carbs (like 8-12 slices of bread a day) and also wear spandex cut way too high on the thigh when going to the gym. I mean, there were so many bad ideas during that period!
So, let’s skip the duh’s and just go, “Ah, I see! Now gimme all the keto energy balls!!!” That’s better. Well, one thing I learned going keto was that you don’t have to be on the keto diet to strategically drop a couple keto energy balls and/or other keto snacks in your diet to stay satisfied for longer.
As such, I’m sharing my Peanut Butter Keto Energy Balls recipe with you—both for keto and non-keto folks alike.
4 easy steps with just 3 simple ingredients for keto peanut butter balls that are lightly sweet and totally satisfying.
How to Make Keto Peanut Butter Balls
Line
First, line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper. You can even use a plate if that’s what you have on hand!
Add Ingredients
Add all keto peanut butter balls ingredients to a medium bowl: peanut butter, coconut flour and keto maple syrup.
Stir
Using a fork, go ahead and stir it all together until well mixed. I like to finish this off by stirring and folding with a rubber spatula.
Scoop and Enjoy!
Using a small or medium cookie scoop, scoop and drop keto balls onto the prepared baking sheet (or plate!). Now, enjoy the easiest keto peanut butter balls ever!

What peanut butter do you use? I have tried to make a keto peanut butter ball and I had used organic creamy smuckers all natural pb and the balls were grainy from the bp. Not real creamy so the textured was gross for a bp ball. Can u give any suggestions of what exact ingredients to use.
Hi Teresa! In the Notes portion of the recipe, I have a section called Where to Buy Ingredients that included a link to the exact peanut butter I used. Hope this helps!
Love a quick and delicious recipe! Thank you for sharing sweetie.
You’re so welcome! 😊
Thank you for this recipe! I’ve been craving sweet food, as I just switched to keto and these turned out GREAT! I feel better in so many ways after eating one. My body is now satiated 🥰😂♥️
(Also i used swerve and crunchy peanut butter instead and they still turned out good)
Yum.
You’re so very welcome Hailey! 😊 It’s so important that we enjoy the food we eat, you know? And thanks for letting me know about the swerve!
Where do I find the keto maple syrup?
Hi Taylor, here’s the keto maple syrup that I use. 🙂 Also, if you look in the recipe, you’ll see exactly what I use linked up and in the little pictures of the products. Enjoy!
Turned out SO WELL!!! Thank you!
You’re so welcome, Hellen! 🙂 Enjoy!!
I also didn’t have maple syrup, so I used Swerve (confectionary) instead of the syrup in the equivalent amount. I also added a small amount of water to compensate for the liquid. It seems to have come out well.
Oh that’s awesome! I love hearing how substitutions work out, so this was amazing (and so helpful for others). Thanks for letting me know!
Can I do this with crunchy peanut butter!?
Hi Sherrie! Yep, that should be fine. 🙂
Definitely going to try! My husband is a Peanut butter fudge ADDICT so this might be a good alternative for him. He doesn’t have to KNOW that it’s healthy, RIGHT??? .
Haha I won’t say anything if you don’t! .. I hope you two enjoy the recipe Amanda!
can you substitute something for maple syrup, I don’t have it.
Hi Joan, you can swap the keto maple syrup with real maple syrup, liquid stevia drops or brown rice syrup. You’ll need to adjust to taste. Enjoy!
Hi!! I love PB and these sound delicious. I’m getting I the low carb track, but was wondering I I can use monkfruit instead for the sweetener ?
Hi Amanda! I haven’t tried this with granulated monkfruit sweetener, so I can’t say for sure. If you do give it a go, let me know how they turn out! 🙂
Looking forward to trying these. Is there a particular reason for using unsalted peanut butter?
Thanks
Hi Jonda! I use unsalted because I like to keep my sodium low where I can can definitely use salted PB if you like! 🙂
Can almond flour be substituted for the coconut flour? If so how much?
Thanks
Hi Christine, I know of readers who have tried subbing the coconut flour with almond flour with some success. Unfortunately, I haven’t tried it myself. It would have to be more since almond flour is much less absorbent than coconut flour. Adjust as needed to achieve the consistency you desire. Good luck!
Thanks for getting back to me. Do you by chance know the ratio for coconut flour to almond flour?
I was looking for a healthy whole-food treat for my family. We’re trying to move away from packaged snacks. And found THIS recipe. Yum! Thank you!
So glad you found me Mel! . Thank you for taking the time to let me know!
Sooo easy, yummy, and satisfying! I started the keto diet in the new year, so I really appreciate the recipe for this super-tasty treat. Thank you, Demeter!!

These were the perfect size to get my sweet tooth fix this afternoon; hands down delicious!
Woohoo! I know, bite-sized and so delish! .
Yummy! These keto peanut butter balls are awesome, so easy to make! 🙂
Oh that’s so wonderful to hear Matt! .
What flours can be substituted? I have a lot of oat flour and brown rice flour on hand. Will either of these work?
Thanks!
Hi Tami! I haven’t tried it with oat flour, but other readers have with good results (though it would make it not keto). Let me know how it goes!
Yes, I definitely grew up in the “fat is bad” days. Definitely true that a tasty and healthy snack like this is much more satisfying than many alternatives. Yum!
Exactly! Hope you enjoy the bites David! 🙂
Oh wow, these are so easy and only need 3 ingredients. Luckily they are healthy, so it’s okay to eat lots. 🙂
Haha I like the way you think Anita! .
Oh yes!! These are the protein-packed pick me up I need at 2pm!! Yum.
Exactly! So wonderful as an afternoon snack! .
Could I use a different sweetener? Like erythritol or liquid stevia or do I need something sticky?
Hi Kristen, try the liquid stevia. You might need to adjust it to taste. Enjoy!
These peanut butter balls will make for a great snack! Can’t wait to whip these up 🙂
They’re so wonderful to snack on! I know you’ll just love them!
Demeter, these look AMAZEBALLS! I will make them as soon as possible – I have noticed a worrisome lack of pb in my life lately.
LOL you know it Marie-Charlotte! .. Def gotta fix that lack of peanut butter!
Do we have to bake balls? For how long?
Nope! No baking required here. 🙂
