I like this recipe, simple to make with on hand ingredients(i used peanut butter) and delicious. I really like using coconut flour but next time I’m going to try a little less as it tends to create a mouth-drying effect and can sometimes make the result crumbly
Nothing beats a tasty recipe that’s easy to make, right? . Glad you enjoyed it Emily!
Absolutely delicious and oh so simple to make. I exchanged chocolate with coconut oil, cacao and maple syrup and added some peppermint oil. Tastes very much like a mint slice. Thank you for this delicious recipe.
Ooh what a lovely addition. So happy you enjoyed the recipe!
Hi Leah,
What ratio were the ingredients for your chocolate topping?
thanks
Hi there. These are delicious and easy to make.
Do you have any idea what the total sugar is? I need to watch my blood sugar.
Many thanks

Hello! I was interesting in giving these a try but read through to comments for substitutions on the coconut flour due to a coconut allergy. There was mention of people having success with oat flour. Would you still use 1/2 cup of oat flour or would you recommend another amount like the almond flour?
Hi Teri! Try using 1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons oat flour (give or take). It might not be enough flour to dry up/thicken the bars right way. However, after about a day, they should be just right. Good luck!
I have a coconut sensitivity and I am to eliminate oats from my diet all together can you suggest another flour substitute as these are so simple and a great change from the paleo chocolate chip cookies I’m over making because of my new lifestyle of eating and foot prep. Thanks
Hi Tamara! You could try swapping the coconut flour for almond flour, though it will have a different consistency. I’d recommend increasing the amount of flour a bit, and decreasing the maple syrup a bit as well. You’ll probably also need to chill in the freezer to get them firm. Let me know how it goes!
These are so good. My daughter asks me to make a batch every week so she can have her favorite after school snack. Thank you for the wonderful recipe!
Wonderful!! I’m so happy to hear that you and your daughter enjoy my recipe. 🙂 Thank you for taking the time to let me know!
Absolutely delicious. I made the base and formed it into truffle size balls. Then put in the freezer as the recipe said.
Melted some dark chocolate and rolled the truffles in the dark chocolate
Made a great alternative to truffles for Christmas.
Thanks so much for the recipe.
Make a real treat for having after going to the gym xx
Thank you so much, Emma! I’m totally drooling over your idea of making these into balls and rolling in dark chocolate. Thank YOU for taking the time to leave such kind feedback. 🙂
These look wonderful! For the chocolate chips, would you recommend semi-sweet, milk or dark chocolate?
Thanks Angie! I love using semi-sweet it dark. Hope you enjoy!
These are great! Turned out perfect. I added cacao nibs to the chocolate topping and it gives it a bit of a nice crunch.
Thanks for sharing.
Ooh that sounds so good! So glad you enjoyed them Kay!
